Attorney Juan Dominguez at the USC Neighborhood Academic – Initiative Gala Awards Ceremony
On Monday, April 30, 2012 the USC Neighborhood Academic Initiative (NAI) held their Annual Gala and Awards Ceremony at the prestigious USC Galen Center, in honor of the graduating student class of 2012. The University of Southern California offers this extensive seven year program to students of low income neighborhood families to receive a college education. Such program offers augmented academics, and college ready courses, which includes math, science, & language arts with a graduating rate of 100 percent. After their completion and if accepted; students are given the opportunity to attend USC on a full financial package award. Attorney Juan Dominguez has continuously, over the years, supported students with scholarships to help continue their path to college. Attorney Dominguez believes not only in giving back to the community, but also in reaching out to students who have the enthusiasm and desire to attend a college or university. This year he proudly granted two individual scholarships to: Marlytt Garrido; a young lady with a passion to make a difference in her community; she is interested in pursuing her career in political science. Elizabeth Guzman is another young lady who received a Juan Dominguez scholarship. Mrs. Guzman is an intelligent and bright student whose promising future college plan is to obtain a double major in journalism and the social sciences. Attorney Juan J. Dominguez continues to support the USC NAI throughout the years and encourages others to support these young students to achieve their educational goals. Mr. Dominguez believes it takes a passionate soul to achieve a goal, but also a great crowd of believers including passionate teachers, parents, and friends to encourage a student’s path to success.
